On Christmas Eve we talked about letting Christ serve you.
Judas and Peter came to mind.
Judas tried to fix things on his own. It ended in his destruction.
Peter also tried to fix things on his own. It ended in his denial of Christ and crippling shame.

So why is Judas synonymous with betrayal and Peter the guy at the pearly gates?
Peter allowed Jesus to fix his problems.

After Peter messes everything up and denies evening knowing Jesus. They meet up.

Jesus doesn’t meet him with accusations, questions or even judgmental looks (like I would, “what were you thinking?”). Peter doesn’t give any excuses (like I would, “it was really scary!”).

They both know.

Jesus simply say’s “Do you love me?”…. “Feed my lambs”. John 21:15-17
I like that.
My life no longer has to hinge on me fixing things, but loving the one who can.
And when I let him, he invites me to be part of the solution… feed my lambs (let’s get to work).

Lets continue to experience Christ’s love through service in 2012.

Our next Sunday evening worship will be on Jan. 8th @ 6pm.
Happy New Year!
