forWent to St. Augustine with my son’s 4th grade class this last Monday. Part of the field trip took us to the 333 year-old Castillo de San Marcos. This old fort was Spains 10th attempt at building one that would work. Explains the stone construction, walls that measure 18 feet wide at their base, and mote complete with drawbridge.
Under attack, having a good fortress really matters.
