For the last three weeks I have been celebrating what God is doing in me, in New City Church, and in the communities we live in. I have just been in a ridiculously good mood.
However, while walking the dogs today this thought came into my mind:
“Don’t let your lows be too low or your highs too high”.
Am I letting the high of seeing God work, be too high?
What does that even mean? My very next thought answered the question:
“Better be careful, its gonna hurt when things fall apart”.
So just prepare yourself with preemptive discouragement, low expectation, and a dash of disappointment, right?
No! I don’t want to live like that anymore; that coaching statement is for people who are relying on a game for happiness. Well I’m on God’s team, the results are in, and death has been defeated. So I am free to be as happy as I want, for as long as I want, and so are you! It’s all just a big gift, the only way to mess it up is to not enjoy it.
John 16:33“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Jesus.
James 5:13 Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise.
Have a great Wednesday,
Adam Barcott
Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.
