Psalm 30:5 “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night but rejoicing comes in the morning.”
The bad thing about moving forward in life is that conflict, despair, insecurity are inevitable. The good news is you ARE moving forward.
Humanity settles for living in emptiness, resentment and anger. We get so used to it that the only flicker of hope is finding distractions: TV, sports, shopping . . . sex, drugs, rock n roll.
God’s story is one of conflict. Trusting Jesus doesn’t make us immune to the human condition. Faith just gives us a different ending. “Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”
In the world, we distract ourselves at night, but wake up with regret, a hangover, and a bad taste in our mouth.
But in Jesus, we face the conflict first, only to wake up with joy and thanksgiving.
It is the certain hope of Jesus that allows us to say, “You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever.”
I like this. Some of us are struggling today, weeping may remain for the night. But if you’re trusting God, rejoicing ALWAYS comes in the morning.
