This Labor day, I put the finishing touches on parenting. I’m done. I parented my youngest into freedom from her completely mental fear of falling off the bike. Although Grace has possessed the physical ability to ride a bike for the last 8 months, her mind would not allow her to enjoy it. She didn’t believe she could do it.

I love these experiences because for a moment I see what God is doing with me . . . us.
He is teaching us to believe that we can live life the way it was meant to be. The physical work is done, Jesus did that. We just don’t believe it. The fear of scraping our knee, keeps us hostage to living life. We proceed anxiously instead of letting the breeze blow in our hair.

The good news is that we have a heavenly father who will always run along side our bike. He loves to endure the heat, the awkward hunched over jog, the constant coaching, and the vigilant traffic update. All because He knows the joy that will come when you believe it. His and yours.

John 6:28-29
28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

Hope to see you on Sunday for our Baptism service.

Have a great weekend.
