Which is better, to serve the needy, or sit at home and pray all day? What do you think? It’s tricky, especially when reading Luke 10:25-42 where you have Jesus telling a lawyer that one must love his neighbor by works of mercy only to be followed by the next scene where Jesus is telling Martha that her sister Mary is doing the right thing by not helping and just sitting at the feet of Jesus. Sooo, should I be out there serving or inside praying, which is better? Faith and works go together, they are two sides of the same coin, so our question doesn’t have to be which is better but where are you leading me today? Whatever God puts in front of you today, invite Jesus into it and ask for his courage, faith, and love.
