Hey! Just a reminder that our Easter Service will start at 10 a.m. this Sunday.
Today is Maundy Thursday, a day that remembers Jesus’ last supper with His disciples.
It’s a big deal.
First, Christ proclaimed himself the sacrificial lamb to take away the sins of the world, forever changing the Passover meal to the Lord’s Supper.
Second, it was during this meal that Christ washed the feet of his disciples; plainly revealing that his plan to save the world was love. Which, by the way, still feels like an unrealistic and silly way to combat violent enemies. But, this is our story. Jesus is our leader. And here is what He says:
John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Twenty-four hours after this meal Jesus would be dead, and he only armed his followers with love? I know, right. It won’t feel like enough.
Love never feels like enough until Easter morning.
