New is scary & exciting

I just dropped off my baby at Middle School, and I think I am more nervous than my daughter.
New chapters are always a mix of emotions; it’s the unknown that is scary and exciting.
Chris Reites talked about Choose Your Own Adventure books on Sunday. I thought about the adventure that Chris is choosing. Standing up in front of people to talk about God is pretty scary. He did a great job and should feel good about it.
We all have opportunities to walk into new seasons: Relationships, education, career, mortgage, motorcycles, kids, church. All opportunities bring with them strong currents of insecurity, disruption, and isolation. Sounds fun right? Well the good news is that as a child of God, He will walk you to class, not just your first day but every day.
Instead of avoiding negative feelings, we get to walk through them into new feelings. Feelings of security, comfort, community, faith, love, joy…

2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
