As a kid, I rightly understood the perfection of Jesus meaning that He never stole, told a lie or drank too much. As an adult I have related to the fact that Jesus never wavered in his trust of the Father’s plan for Him, no matter how crazy it sounded …(suffering a humiliating death by people he could easily beat up).
Jesus lives life the way it was meant to be, perfect.
But on Sunday another angle of Jesus sinless nature fell into place for me.
When Jesus was tired, hungry and deserted, Satan went for His identity. “If you are the Son of God, then prove it” Matt. 4.
Instead of entertaining the question of identity, Jesus just did what the Son of God would do…quote things He grew up hearing his Father say.
Jesus always knew who he was. That’s perfect! I love it.
Ephesians 1:18-19
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.(all of chapter 1 is amazing, read it sometime today.)
When you are a Child of God, the only one asking you to prove it, is the enemy.
Enjoy the day,
Adam
some of us will be gathering at the Lodge tomorrow morning @ 7:30am to pray.
See you Sunday.
