Last night a group of us were talking about the phrase “Grace and Peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” By grace we are brought into relationship with God, which produces peace.
The group conceded that we have access to grace and peace now through faith, but what does it look like?
I know it was a good conversation because I was still thinking about it early this morning while driving. And that’s when the rainbow appeared. I’m not going to start ironing rainbows to my jean jacket or anything . . . . but it spoke to me.
A real sign of God right in front of my face! Inspiring, beautiful, mysterious.
Genesis 9
12-16 God continued, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and everything living around you and everyone living after you. I’m putting my rainbow in the clouds, a sign of the covenant between me and the Earth.”
So when grace and peace collide in our lives something inspiring, beautiful and mysterious happens, something like a rainbow.
