New City Folks
Lowery was nervous during last nights storm. Besides the scary amount of lighting and thunder I found out that He was concerned about it becoming a hurricane. So I shared with him the truth about hurricanes, how they don’t just appear, they have to form over the ocean and make their way toward land. I told him the truth about how the news loves to follow hurricanes, so that we will have plenty of time to prepare.
I tried to show him how fear enslaves us, and truth (no matter how hard or scary) will always free us.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8
Here is some truth that we all share in Christ. Think on them today…
In Christ I am completely accepted, God says I am his child, friend, and complete in Christ. (John 1:12, John 15:15, Colossians 2:10)
In Christ I am totally secure. God says I am free forever from condemnation, assured that all things work together for good, and confident that the good work God has begun in me will be perfected. (Romans 8:1-2, Romans 8:28, Philippians 1:6)
In Christ I am deeply significant. God says I am His workmanship, created for good works, the salt of the earth and the light of the world. (Ephesians 2:10, Matt. 5:13-14)
It’s all true!
