After Bible-study a couple of weeks ago, Caroline e-mailed me a note about what Jesus is accomplishing in her life. Her thoughts really capture the essence of what it means to be the people of faith…forgiven, loved and hopeful. With her permission, I thought it would encourage the rest of the community as much as it did me.

“Adam,
Bible study was so powerful last night! The shift for me…and you recognized it…how the Lord disciplines us, not punishes us for our sins. He took care of that on the cross! How incredible. Then-since Adam/Eve, Sarah/Abraham…..humanity has been trying to figure things out, make things happen, not waiting on God’s timing for his solution. I used to pride myself in my ability to “make it happen”.
What the Lord is showing me in the midst of all these life situations is that yes – they are too much for me. But not for Him. He has a much bigger plan….one that I can’t see, but one that I must TRUST.”

I love that New City is a group of people committed to asking similar questions about what it means to follow Jesus and willing to share our lives with one another. Thanks for sharing Caroline.

Too much for me…but not for Him,
Adam
