I was thinking and praying about everyone who attends New City Church this morning. I have this visual system of learning. So my mind’s eye actually visualizes the sanctuary, and your face pops up as I go through each section. I also remember what your were wearing, so try to spice it up every once in a while.
Anyway, I stop on your face and pray. I don’t know what to pray all the time. The tragedy, conflict, hardship of course, but I want more for you than just to survive. So lately I have been praying for God to give you ambition, then peace and grace to pursue it. I am asking that God would use you all to do great things in your work, neighborhood, home, family, wherever.

I got excited this morning. I realized that God is doing some great things through you, but you may not be realizing it. I felt the hope of the gospel through seeing your faces in my mind today. You may not realize it, but your faces minister to me. While I preach every Sunday, your faces preach faith, hope, love, mercy, grace, peace, and the love of God to me. So, in my gratitude, I want to say “Hey, great sermon!”, “Love the series”, and “You hit that one out of the park!”

For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you,…

In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.
