“Dude…trust me! Know one will ever know or care, c’mon!”
This sentence always makes total sense while breaking into a schools indoor swimming pool at midnight.

Trust. The source of most of our problems.
Why is it so hard to trust God?
Can’t see God.
Can’t hear God.
Can’t hug God.
Can’t cash a check from God.
So when we hear about God’s intentions for us, it’s hard to trust him. It’s hard to trust that he really knows what were going through. It’s hard to trust that he really feels the anxiety, hunger, loneliness. Can God give us what we really need?

So we trust people instead.
Why is it so easy to trust people?
Can see people.
Can hear people.
Can hug people.
Can cash a check from people.

Confidently relying on a person to carry your heart and make it all better is unreasonable, but ohhh so tempting. Find an amazing person, with similar interest, at the same season in life and crown them as your souls godparent. This always leads to bitterness or self-pity. (People are evil and stupid or you are) Ugg. The real problem is not about untrustworthy people, but about trusting God.
Peter from the Bible had trust issues. Matthew 15:27-31 “You of little faith… why did you doubt?” Look it up.
So lets trust the people we don’t see: Father, Son & Holy Spirit. This always leads to love, joy, and peace.
Dude… trust me I’m a preacher, c’mon!
Adam.
