Turn the lights on

I was talking with my friend Ben this last week about a statement that Jesus made in Matt. 5:13-15. “You are the salt of the earth…You are the light of the world…” great idea right? We even sang this line in church, “We are the light of the world of the world ohhh” (sing it under your breath, it’s fun).

So, what does that look like…? At the end of the conversation, Ben said it this way:
“If this world is going to have any flavor to it or be worth living in, it’ll be because Jesus’ people are here. If people are going to be able to see things for what they are rather than bumping around in the dark, it’ll be because Jesus’ people are here. God has chosen us to give the world flavor and turn the lights on, just by being ourselves.”

I like that because most of my life I felt like being myself was the problem not the answer.
You are part of a world changing community and a really big deal.
