I once wrote an exegetical paper on this verse.
Gal. 5:1
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
I worked for weeks with the Greek language parsing out the author’s usage, style, context, lexical terms, syntax and historical background. After all that work you know what I came to.
Look to Jesus for freedom.
I know… it’s a no brainer, but still profound.
Christ’s only agenda is to set me free.
This same passage goes on to announce that I am now free to walk in a never ending supply of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
So almost daily when experiencing this freedom escapes me, the question I have to ask is where am I looking for it?
Look to Jesus.
It is for freedom that Christ has set you free.
