There are a three things my kids will fight over every time; candy, the computer/video games, and chores. It’s a hard to find happiness when you feel like someone else is always getting more than you. As you grow up, the fight for happiness gets more expensive, time consuming and exhausting. Oh yeah, and it still feels like someone else is getting more than you.
Paul the grizzled old veteran writes to the young guy Timothy about what is worth fighting for. He says I know it seems weird, but you can’t chase after happiness because it doesn’t exist on its own. Happiness is a product of knowing the one who does have more than you. Turns out He is good and wants to share it all by faith.
So pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6
Don’t get beat up fighting for the wrong stuff.
There’s only one fight worth fighting, and that’s for the faith to live with God.
Enjoy the day,
Adam
